| Limited-Time Experience During the Gion Festival | From July 1st to 31st
Create a one-of-a-kind Goshuincho (temple stamp book) while learning about the culture and traditional patterns of the Gion Festival through Kyoto Karakami.
This year, the workshop highlights bird motifs found throughout the festival. Choose your favorite handcrafted Karakami paper featuring these motifs and make your own stamp book with it.
The session includes an introduction to the decorative art and floats, offering insights that will enrich your experience of the Gion Festival. Using Karakami papers specially printed by artisans for this event, you will create a unique stamp book unavailable in our regular workshops.
Your completed stamp book can be used right away to collect stamps from shrines and temples while exploring the festival’s floats and traditional motifs.
*The Gion Festival introduction will be presented in Japanese, with English captions available on the slides.
